| Ivor Hughes is a freelance photojournalist based in Yorkshire. He works throughout England and France. He has been a regular contributor to Calendar since 2006 and writes for numerous newspapers and antiques and lifestyle magazines in UK, USA and Australia/NZ. As a photographer, he has been fully accredited for events as diverse as BBC Antiques Roadshow, top concerts (The Who, Eric Clapton) and international sport (Rugby League Internationals, 2010 Tour de France). |
| Ivor also deals, actively though part-time, in militaria and photographic equipment and in French bronzes, art glass, ceramics, enamelware and other decorative items. He buys at boot sales and fleamarkets every week of the year, and regularly at antiques fairs, centres and auctions throughout England and France. Once a shop owner and regular seller at boots and fairs in England and France, that side of his business is now confined to antiques centres and the internet. |
| As a journalist he maintains high professional standards. He does not write advertorials - nor does he ever use his articles as an opportunity for self-promotion. He reports things just as he finds them - to the point of being banned, on two occasions, from DMG's antiques events in UK, France and USA. |
